Inspired by the way the light catches and defines the edges of mountain rocks. As I painting, I considered the edges we hold within ourselves and our tendency to define an edge by lightness or darkness. But just as with the land, our edges are continually moving, shaped by time and elements. Sharpness gives way to softness. Lightness and darkness exist simultaneously. New shapes are constantly unearthed and revealed.
