I discovered my love of hiking and being in the mountains at a young age. This love and appreciation for the earth and the environment continues to be my motivation in creating art.
One of the greatest lessons I have learned by being in nature is the power of the present moment. I find enjoyment and satisfaction outdoors when I focus on just ‘being’. In turn, I am constantly reminded of the universal connection of all things. My landscape paintings are a celebration of the earth and provide a space where we can become more connected - to ourselves, to each other, to nature, and to our spirituality.
I paint to echo the experience of what it feels like to be in nature. I want to capture the awe, wonder, and beauty of a place through the medium of paint. That lends to some abstraction within my work because our emotions are abstract. My paintings are as much about the landscape pictured as they are about the process of creation and the viewer’s experience of the end result.
My goal is that having my paintings in your home will bring a shift in energy and place of calm. My paintings bring inspiration to your every day life and encourage you to find beauty, light, and inner peace within our ever shifting, ever changing world.
When I am not in the studio, you will probably find me practicing yoga, hiking, camping, reading, or cooking a delicious meal.
