A painting inspired by the pause that comes after hiking to the top of a mountain. Upon reaching the peak, those first few moments as you catch your breath, you look out and see how far you’ve come. It is often in those moments that I feel the vastness of the earth most acutely and my smallness in comparison. And yet, even in my smallness, I belong to this bit of world I inhabit. The shift in perspective acts as an invitation, a new way of seeing, something wide open.
